Upon completion of this course, participants receive a certificate in Red Cross lifeguarding with adult/pediatric CPR, AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration. Certifications are valid for 2 years from date of issue. 6hrs of online prerequisite online work (emailed upon registration) + prerequisite fitness test required.

Friday 4:45p-9p
Saturday 9a-6:30p
Sunday 9a-6:30p.
Attendance required for all days of class.
Fitness Test:
1. Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest.
- Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface, then swim 150yds using the front cral, breastroke, or a combination of both (swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Goggles are permitted)
- Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs
- Swim 50yds using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both
2. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds
- Starting in the water, swim 20yds (face in or out of the water, goggles are NOT allowed)
- Surface dive to a depth of 7-10ft to retrieve a 10lb object
- Return to the surface and swim 20yds on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface
- Exit water without using a ladder or steps
